Softball Recap: Gainesville Comes Up Short

Gainesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Celina Bobcats, falling 24-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 26-0 back in March.

Gainesville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Celina, they moved to 12-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Gainesville will head out on the road to square off against Van Alstyne at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Leopards' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Celina, they will host Bonham at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
