Baseball Game Preview: Tate Aggies vs. Crestview Bulldogs

The Tate Aggies will take on the Crestview Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Tate's offense. They came up short against Escambia on Wednesday, falling 10-0.

Tate saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Griffin Cook, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double.

Meanwhile, Crestview also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 15-0 to Mosley on Friday. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Dolphins recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Tate's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Crestview, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-15.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Tate has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Crestview struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Tate skirted past Crestview 7-6 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Aggies since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
