Recap: Faith Baptist School Falcons vs. Greenwood Mennonite Flames
The Faith Baptist School Falcons lost against the Greenwood Mennonite Flames back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Faith Baptist School was dealt a 47-18 defeat at the hands of Greenwood Mennonite. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Faith Baptist School has scored all season.
They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Brenna Binkley and
Ava Reinert, who each put up seven points. Reinert also led the team in assists with two.
Laci Mast continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Greenwood Mennonite, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Mast is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Faith Troyer was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Faith Baptist School and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Greenwood Mennonite, their win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2.
Faith Baptist School won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Concord Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Concord Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Thursday. As for Greenwood Mennonite, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Chestertown Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 26th. Chestertown Christian Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
