Baseball Preview: Milton Black Panthers vs. Mifflinburg Wildcats
The Milton Black Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Mifflinburg Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Black Panthers fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They had just enough and edged out Bloomsburg 4-3.
Montgomery Fisher was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Lytle, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Mifflinburg made sure to put some runs up on the board against Shikellamy on Wednesday. Mifflinburg was the clear victor by an 11-2 margin over Shikellamy. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Aaron Bolick made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Bolick was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hunter Resseguie, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Nick Lloyd was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.
Mifflinburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shikellamy only managed five hits.
