Basketball Game Preview: West Orange Mountaineers vs. Bayonne Bees

The West Orange Mountaineers are taking a road trip to challenge the Bayonne Bees at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Orange is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season.

West Orange took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Sunday. They enjoyed a cozy 59-42 victory over Kennedy. The Mountaineers pushed the score to 47-27 by the end of the third, a deficit the Knights cut but never quite recovered from.

West Orange got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kyley Gary-Grayson out in front who posted 16 points and five assists. Gary-Grayson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Rhyan Watt was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Meanwhile, Bayonne strolled past Hudson Catholic with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 59-45. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bees.

West Orange's record is now 6-2. As for Bayonne, their record now sits at 6-1.

West Orange was able to grind out a solid victory over Bayonne in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 35-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Orange since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
