Basketball Game Preview: Villanova Prep Wildcats vs. Nordhoff Rangers

The Villanova Prep Wildcats just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Nordhoff Rangers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with nine consecutive losses dating back to last season for Villanova Prep and three for Nordhoff.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 82-23, which was the final score in Villanova Prep's tilt against Thacher on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1338th, while the Toads are ranked 553rd).

Meanwhile, Nordhoff lost to Channel Islands on the road by a 69-54 margin on Wednesday.

Villanova Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Nordhoff, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.

Villanova Prep came up short against Nordhoff when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 50-40. Can Villanova Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
