After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Toms River East, Colts Neck was happy to have turned things around  on Friday. They put the hurt on the Shore Regional Blue Devils with a sharp  24-1 win. Considering the Cougars have won five contests by more than nine  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Nick Hayden looked comfortable as he  struck out six batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Ronan Kiely, who  went 2-for-4 with one  home run, eight  RBI,  and two  stolen bases. Those  two  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Joseph Pignatelli, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
 Colts Neck  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .609. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
Colts Neck is  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Shore Regional, their loss  ended  a  four-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 9-7.
 Coming up, Shore Regional will take on Monmouth Regional at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Colts Neck will be paying especially close attention to the Blue Devils'  game: after the Blue Devils face off against the Falcons, they'll take on Colts Neck again  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
