Basketball Game Preview: Lumpkin County Indians vs. Chestatee War Eagles

Lumpkin County and Chestatee are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Lumpkin County Indians will venture away from home to challenge the Chestatee War Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, Lumpkin County turned things around against Johnson on Friday. They blew past the Knights, posting a 64-13 win. That looming 64-13 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Indians yet this season.

Meanwhile, Chestatee was able to grind out a solid victory over Dawson County on Friday, taking the game 40-31.

Chestatee is also on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points per game. As for Lumpkin County, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-15.

Lumpkin County came up short against Chestatee when the teams last played back in January, falling 52-42. Can Lumpkin County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
