The Monrovia Bulldogs will face off against the Tri-West Hendricks Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Monrovia is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Speedway 27-6 on Friday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Sparkplugs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Ryder Bain and Coewen Stinson. Bain rushed for 144 yards and a pair of scores while Stinson rushed for 94 yards on only 12 carries. Bain also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Monrovia is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.
Monrovia was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 323 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.
Meanwhile, Tri-West Hendricks was able to grind out a solid win over Indian Creek on Friday, taking the game 31-24.
The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Jack Sorgi and Evan Clark. Sorgi had a solid game and threw for 215 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Clark was balling out in the loss, throwing for 318 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 34 yards.
The victory got Monrovia back to even at 3-3. As for Tri-West Hendricks, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
The upcoming contest will be a clash of competing strengths. Monrovia has deployed a run-first offense that has averaged 214 rushing yards a game. Meanwhile, Tri-West Hendricks has preferred to attack from the air: they average 294.7 passing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
Monrovia came up short against Tri-West Hendricks when the teams last played back in November of 2023, falling 28-21. Thankfully for the Bulldogs, Malachi Walden (who rushed for 155 yards and three scores while picking up 9.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 103 yards and one touchdown) won't be suiting up this time.
