Basketball Game Preview: Meridian Hawks vs. Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg

Meridian hasn't had much luck against Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Meridian Hawks will square off against Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Meridian strolled past Central A & M with points to spare, taking the game 53-39.

Meanwhile, Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg waltzed into their game on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They took down the Rams 46-27. Given Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while Ramsey is ranked 555th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-6. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.5 points per game. As for Meridian, their win bumped their record up to 14-10.

Meridian came up short against Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 47-34. Can Meridian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
