Softball Game Preview: Thousand Islands Vikings vs. Sandy Creek Comets

Thousand Islands has won six straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Sandy Creek has won six straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Vikings will host the Comets at 5:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Wednesday.

On Friday, Thousand Islands made easy work of General Brown and carried off an 8-1 victory. The game marked the Vikings' most dominant win of the season so far.

Meanwhile, Sandy Creek's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. They never let General Brown get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The Comets haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Thousand Islands' victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Sandy Creek, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-0.

Thousand Islands suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Sandy Creek in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
