League recap: D'Iberville moves into state Top 25

6A Region 4 recap September 17, 2013

D'Iberville was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting Pascagoula. The Warriors came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 46 last week.

Hancock moved up to 106 from 153 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 6A Region 4. The Hawks were able to make move up by beating Sumrall 56-6.

Gulfport's dynamic duo of Thad Miller and Richaud Floyd proved tough for Moss Point to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Miller threw for 251 yards and 5 touchdowns and Floyd had 132 yards receiving. Jevon Floyd helped Gulfport's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 68 yards.

The Admirals' dynamic duo of Miller and Floyd proved to be unstoppable against the Tigers, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Miller put up the best numbers in passing as Gulfport defeated Moss Point.

Floyd was the best wideout in the league this week as Eddie Pearce's team bested Ed East's team.

Chase Fagan provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Hancock topped the Bobcats. He completed 13 passes for 346 yards and 3 touchdowns and also ran for 66 yards. Fagan's key target this week was Alex Feazelle, who caught 5 passes for 118 yards.

Tyler Polk was the best running back in the league this week. In 21 carries, he ran for 170 yards as St. Martin topped the Tigers. Teammate Demontrae Boudreaux added to the ground attack by rushing for 22 yards.

Braxton Brown was a key player and the best on defense this week as Hattiesburg lost to Wayne County. He.

He was 16-21 with 0 interceptions.

The leading receiver in the league this season is Niecill McNair. The St. Martin star has 12 catches for 304 yards.

Ocean Springs took down Gautier 68-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.
