Basketball Recap: Fort Wayne North Side Takes a Loss

Fort Wayne North Side played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Fort Wayne Snider Panthers and fell 62-33. While losing is never fun, the Legends can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 310th, while the Panthers are ranked 52nd).

Despite the loss, Fort Wayne North Side still got an impressive performance from Makaya Harmeyer, who posted ten points.

Fort Wayne Snider found their leader in freshman Janaya Cooper, who went 10 of 13 en route to 25 points and eight rebounds. With that strong performance, Cooper is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. Another player making a difference was Kyra Parker, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 15 points and three steals.

Fort Wayne North Side dropped their record down to 2-10 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Fort Wayne Snider, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Fort Wayne North Side didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-36 defeat against Fort Wayne Bishop Luers on the 21st. Fort Wayne Snider and Valparaiso will round out the year against one another at at 11:45 a.m. on December 28th.
