Strasburg proved they can win big on Friday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Clarke County Eagles, sneaking past 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rams have posted since March 25th.

Ava Mayhew made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaitlyn Cunningham, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Strasburg is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Clarke County, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 8-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Strasburg will head out to face off against Page County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Clarke County, they will venture away from home to square off against Luray at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
