Basketball Recap: Greenburgh-North Castle Comes Up Short

Greenburgh-North Castle and Eldred squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Greenburgh-North Castle had to settle for second. They lost to the Eldred Yellowjackets on the road by a 54-39 margin. The Knights' loss continues a trend for the team, making it nine in a row.

Eldred was led to victory by Trai Kaufmann and Koen McGill. Kaufmann dropped a double-double with 25 points and 12 boards, while McGill dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Kaufmann has scored at least a third of Eldred's points.

Greenburgh-North Castle's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Eldred, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.

Greenburgh-North Castle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eldred, they will take on Bridgehampton at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bridgehampton will roll in looking for their 17th straight win, something Eldred surely won't give up without a fight.
