Soccer Game Preview: Bowie vs. Dripping Springs

Bowie hasn't had much luck against Dripping Springs recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bowie Bulldogs will welcome the Dripping Springs Tigers at 7:45 p.m.

Bowie's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Del Valle by a score of 2-0. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 155th, while the Cardinals are ranked 402nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, neither Dripping Springs nor Austin could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Bowie's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-3-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matchups. Dripping Springs' draw gives them a new season record of 4-2-4.

Bowie came up short against Dripping Springs in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 3-1. Can Bowie avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
