Softball Recap: Magnet Cove Comes Up Short on the Road Against Bismarck

Magnet Cove kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Bismarck Lions by a score of 10-9. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Cara Roberts and Jordan Amerson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Roberts scored two runs while going 3-for-3, while Amerson scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Herrington, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances.

Magnet Cove will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Poyen at 4:30 p.m. on March 18th. As for Bismarck, they will take on Glen Rose at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
