Baseball Recap: Gulf Coast Has No Trouble Against Riverdale

Gulf Coast barely beat Riverdale the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Gulf Coast was the clear victor by a 14-3 margin over Riverdale on Thursday. The Sharks haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Jackson Geiger was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Kacinas, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Gulf Coast always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Gulf Coast's record now sits at 10-8. As for Riverdale, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gulf Coast will take on George Jenkins at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. George Jenkins' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Gulf Coast's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Riverdale, they will challenge North Fort Myers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
