Basketball Recap: Harrison Lauf and Mike Berry Secure Win for Cape Cod Academy

Cape Cod Academy won the last time they faced Sturgis West and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Cape Cod Academy Seahawks were the clear victor by a 51-25 margin over the Sturgis West Navigators. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-9.

Cape Cod Academy was led to victory by Mike Berry and Harrison Lauf. Berry dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards, while Lauf went 6-for-10 en route to 14 points and three steals. What's more, Lauf also posted a 60% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cody Tolley, who posted eight points.

Cape Cod Academy picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-12. As for Sturgis West, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cape Cod Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Dennis-Yarmouth Regional at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sturgis West, they are taking a road trip to take on Falmouth Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
