Football Recap: Lake Marion Comes Up Short

If Lake Marion was riding high fresh off their 38-7 takedown of Calhoun County last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gators fell 34-22 to the Manning Monarchs on Friday. The Gators were not able to make up for their loss to the Monarchs from their previous meeting back in September of 2023.

Lake Marion dropped their record down to 1-2 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Manning, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Lake Marion will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hunter-Kinard-Tyler at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Manning, they will head out to challenge Ridgeland Secondary Academy Of Excellence at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
