Basketball Game Preview: Middle Park Panthers vs. Alameda Pirates

The Middle Park Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Alameda Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Middle Park's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games.

Two weeks ago, Middle Park humbled Arvada with a 72-37 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-11.

It was another big night for Joey Gagnon, who en route to 22 points and five steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Luke Paugh, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Middle Park was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arvada only seven assists.

Meanwhile, Alameda was beaten by Bennett 85-34 on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 320th, while the Tigers are ranked 101st).

Middle Park is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points over those games. Alameda's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.
