Softball Game Preview: Victoria East Titans vs. Fort Bend Marshall Buffalos

The Victoria East Titans will head out on the road to challenge the Fort Bend Marshall Buffalos at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Victoria East will be strutting in after a victory while Fort Bend Marshall will be coming in after a loss.

Victoria East had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Terry on Tuesday. The Titans blew past the Rangers 11-2. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Fort Bend Marshall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Fort Bend Kempner.

Victoria East has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-14 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Fort Bend Marshall, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Victoria East took their victory against Fort Bend Marshall in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 17-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
