The North Rangers will square off against the Kenston Bombers at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. North is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
On Wednesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, North beat Mayfield 48-44.
It was another big night for Kaitlin Dobida, who posted 25 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of North's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Hamilton, who put up seven points and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Kenston's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They came up short against Chagrin Falls, falling 60-38. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bombers have suffered against the Tigers since January 17, 2015.
North will have to keep a close watch on Morgan Cicek and Trinity Osterman, a pair of players who had a big impact on Kenston's prior game. Cicek scored 13 points, while Osterman earned nine points. What's more, Cicek also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Kait Paystrup was another key player, putting up three points.
North pushed their record up to 8-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Kenston, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: North has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 34.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Kenston struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.9 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
