A 23-point lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter didn't slow down
Hartford (Mich.) as it put 14 more points on the scoreboard to secure its victory over Bangor (Mich.) 49-12.
After taking the lead on a
Luke Traver touchdown pass to
Jimmy Mullins in the first quarter, the Indians led 21-6 at the half.
Hartford expanded its lead to 23 points entering the fourth quarter. HHS scored two times in the third, including once on a Traver touchdown run.
Sergio Perez and
Gareth MacMillan ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Vikings. Perez scored two touchdowns on the ground and MacMillan added two as well.
Traver played well for the Indians in the victory. The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
When the two teams played each other last season, Hartford came away with a 17-14 victory.
With the win HHS extended its winning streak to four games. The loss was the fourth in a row for Bangor.
Hartford (4-0) will play a Southwestern - South game against Watervliet next week, while Bangor (0-4) will take on Gobles in a Southwestern - North game.
