Basketball Recap: Clearfield Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Ciara De La O and Isabelle Wyaskett

If Clearfield was riding high fresh off their 61-33 takedown of Roy last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Clearfield Falcons fell 42-35 to the Bountiful RedHawks on Friday. The Falcons have struggled against the RedHawks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Clearfield's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Isabelle Wyaskett, who posted ten points, and Ciara De La O, who had ten points. Wyaskett is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played.

It was another big night for Taylor Harvey, who went 7 for 12 en route to 19 points in addition to seven boards and four steals for Bountiful. Another player making a difference was Mae Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 16 rebounds.

Clearfield's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Bountiful, they pushed their record up to 18-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road.

Clearfield and Bountiful should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings. Clearfield will face off against Box Elder at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday up 76 places (30 vs. 106). Meanwhile, Bountiful (ranked 13th) will meet Roy (ranked 75th) at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
