Basketball Recap: Holbrook Comes Up Short

Holbrook was the 40-37 winner over Payson when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Holbrook Roadrunners fell to the Payson Longhorns 42-38.

Despite the loss, Holbrook still got an impressive performance from Deya Guerrero, who posted 19 points. Guerrero's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points.

Holbrook now has a losing record of 14-15. As for Payson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season.

Holbrook does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Payson, they will host Sabino at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Payson's defense has only allowed 28.6 points per game this season, so Sabino's offense will have their work cut out for them.
