Baseball Recap: Huntington Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Huntington and Spring Valley had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Highlanders lost 11-2 to the Timberwolves on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Timberwolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-5 back in March.

Huntington's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Spring Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Huntington is set to square off against their familiar foe Cabell Midland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Spring Valley will face off against rival Capital at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in the Timberwolves' favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while the Cougars have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
