Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Sequoyah walked away with it. They blew past the Bethel Wildcats, posting a 57-6 victory. Considering the Indians have won nine contests by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Sequoyah found their leader in sophomore Ridge Blackbear, who rushed for 124 yards and three scores on only 11 carries. Blackbear's longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Hudson Hendricks was another key player, rushing for ten yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Sequoyah, racking up 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Hendricks, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Sequoyah's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB 5.5 times. Bethel's QB won't forget Casen Leep anytime soon given he sacked him twice.

Sequoyah's record now sits at 10-1. As for Bethel, they dropped their record down to 7-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Sequoyah will square off against Jones at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will need to watch out since the Longhorns have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. Bethel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
