Football Recap: Marion Giants vs. Lebanon Tigers

Marion extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-3. They were outmatched by the Lebanon Tigers and fell 42-14. The Giants were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Despite the loss, Marion still got an impressive performance from Jayden Johnson, who rushed for 164 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Johnson showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 56 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Barnes, who gained 77 total yards and a touchdown.

As for Lebanon, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.3 points over those games.

Josh Parks was his usual excellent self, rushing for 122 yards and three scores. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 122 rushing yards. Jeremiah Howard also helped with two TDs in total.

Marion wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 41-21 defeat against Muncie Central on the 19th. As for Lebanon, they have also already played their next contest, a 33-27 win against McCutcheon on the 19th.
