Softball Preview: Preston Indians vs. Kuna Kavemen
The Preston Indians are taking a road trip to take on the Kuna Kavemen at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Preston earned a 15-10 victory over Canyon Ridge. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.
Tylee Archibald was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Archibald was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Preston got a massive performance out of Brielle Biggs, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave Biggs a new career-high. Chloe Dunn was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Preston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .697. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Canyon Ridge only posted an OBP of .500.
Meanwhile, Kuna made easy work of Caldwell on Tuesday and carried off a 17-5 win. The victory continues a trend for the Kavemen in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won four in a row.
Rylee Mangum was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-2. Amber Harwood also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Preston's record now sits at 2-0. As for Kuna, their record now sits at 2-3.
