Basketball Recap: Bridget Creed's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Meridian over Skyline

After flying high against Warren County last Friday, Meridian came back down to earth. The Meridian Mustangs received a blow on Monday as they fell 54-40 to the Skyline Hawks. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hawks earlier this season, when they won 60-34.

Meridian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Bridget Creed, who posted 12 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ellie Friesen, who had 13 points and five boards.

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Skyline, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Meridian beat Skyline by a score of 41-29 on Friday.
