Basketball Recap: Alhambra's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Alhambra had to endure an 18-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Metro Tech Knights 64-44 on Tuesday. The Lions' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Metro Tech lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Yahir Monroy, who posted seven points along with ten boards and six steals. Malachi Ivy was another key player, going 6 of 9 en route to 15 points and six rebounds.

Alhambra's win ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-11. As for Metro Tech, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-11.

Alhambra will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Central at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Metro Tech, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 84-44 loss against Agua Fria on the 18th.
