Volleyball Game Preview: Weston Wildcats vs. Medfield Warriors

The Weston Wildcats will square off against the Medfield Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Weston took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Waltham with a sharp 3-0 win. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Medfield made easy work of Holliston on Monday and carried off a 3-0 win.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Medfield was: they took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-13, 25-8.

Weston better focus on containing Liya Raut and Lianna Kane as the pair were huge in Medfield's win. Raut had five aces, while Kane had five digs and one assist.

Medfield was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in five consecutive matches.

Medfield's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Weston, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.

Weston suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Medfield when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
