Basketball Game Preview: Lawrence County Wildcats vs. Central Magnet

The Lawrence County Wildcats will head out to square off against Central Magnet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

It was a proper cat-fight when Lawrence County faced off against Marshall County on Friday. Lawrence County fell to Marshall County 74-68. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (56), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Central Magnet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 69-35 defeat at the hands of Giles County. While losing is never fun, Central Magnet can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while Giles County is ranked 144th).

Lawrence County's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Central Magnet, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-17.

Lawrence County came out on top in a nail-biter against Central Magnet in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, sneaking past 52-50. Does Lawrence County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Central Magnet turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
