Basketball Recap: Silas Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Carmayla Jackson and Annique Smith

Silas was the 47-46 winner over Central Kitsap when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Silas Rams took a 48-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Kitsap Cougars. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Silas had strong showings from Annique Smith, who posted 11 points along with five assists and four blocks, and Carmayla Jackson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Those four blocks gave Smith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Italia Walker, who put up eight points.

Even though they lost, Silas smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in ten consecutive matchups.

Silas' loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Central Kitsap, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Silas will face off against Lincoln at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincoln has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Central Kitsap, they will welcome Gig Harbor at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Central Kitsap has lost three straight at home , while Gig Harbor has lost three on the road.
