Football Recap: Cornerstone Charter Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Cornerstone Charter Academy lost against Christ's Church Academy back in September of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Ducks were just a hair shy of victory and fell 24-23 to the Eagles. While the Ducks had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Eagles 6-0.

Connor Luckado threw for 139 yards on 11 of 23 attempts. Jackson Marsingill was his top target, picking up 68 receiving yards. On the ground, Yousef Vazquez rushed for 85 yards and one TD on only 12 carries.

This is the second loss in a row for Cornerstone Charter Academy and nudges their season record down to 5-4. As for Christ's Church Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Cornerstone Charter Academy will head out on the road to square off against Tradition Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Ducks will be up against the Pirates' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.33 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Christ's Church Academy, they will host Bronson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
