Baseball Game Preview: Neptune Scarlet Fliers vs. Freehold Township Patriots

Neptune hasn't had much luck against Freehold Township recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Scarlet Fliers will welcome the Patriots at 3:45 p.m.

Neptune lost 10-2 to Red Bank Regional on Wednesday.

Neptune saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Torres, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Freehold Township made easy work of St. John-Vianney on Wednesday and carried off a 19-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Freehold Township has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Neptune, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Neptune couldn't quite get it done against Freehold Township when the teams last played back in April of 2018 as they fell 10-6. Can the Scarlet Fliers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
