Softball Preview: Phoenix Christian Cougars vs. San Miguel Vipers
The Phoenix Christian Cougars will venture away from home to take on the San Miguel Vipers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Phoenix Christian has three straight victories, San Miguel has 21 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Karly Van Metre made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Hannah Fisher was a standout: she scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played.
