Baseball Recap: Corning Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Corning's offense. They lost 13-0 to the West Valley Eagles on Thursday. That makes it the first time this season the Cardinals have let down their home crowd.

Corning's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7-1. As for West Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Corning will challenge Gridley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Cardinals' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for West Valley, they will take on Yreka at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
