The Shawnee Braves are taking a road trip to take on the Blanchester Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Shawnee is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They never let Madison get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Braves sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Shawnee got a great performance from Alee Trimmer as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Trimmer has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 16 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emma George, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Lilly Adams was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Shawnee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in six consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Blanchester hadn't done well against Georgetown recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Wildcats blew past the G-Men 19-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.
Reece Ledford made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Ledford was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Riley Binkley was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Bailie Bare, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Shawnee pushed their record up to 23-3 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Blanchester, their record now sits at 14-10.
Blanchester's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Shawnee has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.1 strikeouts per game.
