Preview: Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Saints vs. Catholic Crusaders
The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Saints will head out on the road to square off against the Catholic Crusaders at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Nansemond-Suffolk Academy has struggled recently with seven losses in a row, while Catholic will arrive with six straight wins.
Last Thursday, it was a hard-fought match, but Nansemond-Suffolk Academy had to settle for a 37-34 defeat against Isle of Wight Academy. While losing is never fun, Nansemond-Suffolk Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 370th, while Isle of Wight Academy is ranked 110th).
Meanwhile, Catholic didn't have too much trouble with Kellam at home on Saturday as they won 60-43.
Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
Nansemond-Suffolk Academy took a serious blow against Catholic in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, falling 55-27. Can Nansemond-Suffolk Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
