Softball Recap: Wheeling Park Takes a Loss

Wheeling Park fell victim to St. Marys and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 8-0.

Wheeling Park saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Delaney Randolph, who went 1-for-2 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Randolph has hit this season.

Wheeling Park's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for St. Marys, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.

Wheeling Park will square off against Morgantown at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Marys, they will take on Robert C. Byrd at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.92 runs per game on average), something the Blue Devils will no doubt try to take advantage of.
