Queensbury has gone a perfect 10-0 against Glens Falls recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Spartans will venture away from home to square off against the Black Bears at 4:30 p.m. Queensbury will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
Queensbury's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Troy as they made off with an 11-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Evan Fiore, who gave up just three hits to keep Troy off the board. Fiore has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Queensbury got a big performance out of Tyler Dorvee, who went 2-for-5 with three runs and two RBI. Lucas Rolleston was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Glens Falls' good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They lost 9-3 to Queensbury.
Glens Falls saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Steven Endieveri, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Queensbury's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Glens Falls, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4-1.
Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Queensbury has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .449. However, it's not like Glens Falls struggles in that department as they've averaged .435. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Queensbury took their victory against Glens Falls in their previous matchup on Monday by a conclusive 9-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
