Volleyball Recap: Model Blue Devils vs. Westminster Wildcats
Model saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westminster Wildcats.
The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-21.
Catherine Betz paced Model's offense, picking up six kills. Betz got some help from Landry Johnson and her 11 assists. Betz was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Westminster can attribute much of their success to Sophia Bonadies, who had five aces and four digs. That's the most aces Bonadies has posted since back in September of 2024.
Model's defeat ended an eight-match streak of away wins and brought them to 30-9. As for Westminster, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-9 record this season.
Model will challenge Woodland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westminster, they will square off against West Forsyth at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
