Softball Recap: Choate Rosemary Hall School Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Choate Rosemary Hall School came tearing into Wednesday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Taft School Big Red get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Wild Boars, who have now won six matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Natalia Draghi made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Choate Rosemary Hall School got a massive performance out of Margot Seiden, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Seiden a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Swanson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and two stolen bases.

Choate Rosemary Hall School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive contests.

Choate Rosemary Hall School's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Taft School, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
