Softball Recap: Bernstein Comes Up Short

Bernstein blew Contreras out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Contreras got their revenge. The Dragons fell just short of the Cobras by a score of 18-16. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Dragons have suffered against the Cobras since March 22, 2022.

Bernstein saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was KAYLEE HENRIQUEZ, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases. HENRIQUEZ has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

Bernstein's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Contreras, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.

Bernstein has already played their next matchup, a 15-2 loss against Narbonne on the 25th. As for Contreras, they will head out to square off against Robert F. Kennedy Community at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.25 runs per game on average), something the Cobras will no doubt try to take advantage of.
