Governor's School for Science & Math was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Lamar Silver Foxes, falling 65-27. One positive for the Eagles, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Lamar found their leader in freshman Lamont Williams, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Williams has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more rebounds the last 12 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Christavion Stephenson, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 13 points.
Governor's School for Science & Math's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Lamar, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-13 record.
Governor's School for Science & Math will venture away from home to square off against Midlands STEM Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
