Ellington waltzed into their match on Friday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They blew past the South Iron Panthers 3-0. For the Whippets, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Ellington walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-3, 25-16.

Megan Copeland paced Ellington's offense, picking up 12 kills. Copeland got some help from Tayleigh Cowin and her 27 assists. Madelyn Cowin controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Ellington's victory bumped their record up to 17-3-1. As for South Iron, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Ellington will welcome Greenville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Iron, they are taking a road trip to challenge Eminence at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
