Ellington came tearing into Friday's match with eight straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the South Iron Panthers 3-0. For the Whippets, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Ellington was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-3, 25-16.

Megan Copeland paced Ellington's offense, picking up 12 kills. Copeland got some help from Tayleigh Cowin and her 27 assists. Madelyn Cowin controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Ellington's win bumped their record up to 17-3-1. As for South Iron, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-11.

Ellington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Greenville on the 2nd. As for South Iron, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Eminence on the 30th.
