Soccer Recap: Scotland Comes Up Short

Scotland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Gray's Creek Bears, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, Scotland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 464th, while Gray's Creek are ranked 121st).

Scotland's goal came courtesy of Jake Tew, who's now up to five this season.

Scotland's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Gray's Creek, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1-3.

Looking ahead, Scotland will take on South View at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gray's Creek, they will challenge Lumberton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lumberton's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
